A Racquetball Challenge

This blog thread posted by the Irving Inquisition uses some explicit language, as well as depicting some aspects of life in North Minneapolis that some readers may find objectionable.  Reader discretion is advised.

A Racquetball Challenge

The NoMi Justice League got together yesterday for a friendly match of Racquetball.  The Hawthorne Hawkman (H.H.) VS the Irving Inquisition. (I.I.)  NoMi lacks a venue for such a challenge, so we were forced to go elsewhere.  Fortunately, this blogger has a membership at Lifetime Fitness, and was able to get the H.H. a free pass to the club.

Our not-so-local workout venue.

Racquetball is an intensely physical sport.  That being said, it’s also a finesse sport.  In order to win, one must be able to predict where the ball will land and be waiting at the right spot.  Chasing after the ball will most certainly get you an awesome cardio workout, and most likely a defeat as well.

Let the games begin!

We made a deal that whoever wins the best of 3 gets blogger bragging rights.  Of the three matches I played against the H.H., I won all three.  The I.I.—C-R-U-S-H-E-D—the H.H.  The scores were 15-1, 15-12, and 15-7 respectively.  My opponent vowed to have his revenge.  But for now, I shall savor such a dominating victory over an opponent that is faster, stronger, and more nimble.  I can’t wait for our next match.

The H.H. on the left, the I.I. on the right (Victorious!) - both exhausted.

Actually, you were considerably LESS nimble. Just better at making me chase the ball all over the court.

That's right, I was so much less nimble that you took mercy on me by chasing after that ball like a dog chases a thrown stick.

And I misread your post when writing my rebuttal. Defeat stings all the more.

@ DLW,

Yes, I can get you a pass. They're going to try and sell you a membership. But it shouldn't be a problem to get you in for a round.
