Honest Marketing at the Store

This blog thread posted by the Irving Inquisition uses some explicit language, as well as depicting some aspects of life in North Minneapolis that some readers may find objectionable.  Reader discretion is advised.

Honest Marketing at the Store

Irving Inquisition is back from a little vacation from blogging.  While out and about, observing the sights, sounds, and smells of the world, I noticed how the future has arrived.  Specifically the future has arrived at Trader Joe’s.

I appreciate the honesty, I really do.

While shopping for some essentials I saw this.  Yes that’s right; buy Reduced Guilt brand potato chips.  Mind you, you should still feel guilty while eating these chips.  You just don’t have to feel as guilty as you normally would were you to eat something like Doritos or Kettle Chips.

I’ve got to hand it to Trader Joe’s on this one.  Packaging and selling a product like this takes courage, a lot of courage.  At least they have the integrity to tell you that you should feel bad for eating the product they sell.  While I’m sure these chips hail from only the highest quality potatoes, the oil is trans fat free, and the salt is the finest kosher sea salt; the comparative nutritional value of these chips over their totally guilty, high fat cousins, is like comparing the difference between Camel cigarettes and Camel Light cigarettes.  I wonder what the shelves of our grocery stores will look like in the future after everyone else follows suit...

The farmer's market is sounding better and better all the time.

So once again, hat’s off to Trader Joe’s.  You guys have guts!
